Weeks Families in
Africa

Please help us to continue our Family Legacy -
below are a list of the Weeks' family trees collated in Africa to date.

James and Grace (Ackerly) Weeks
James and Mary Ann (Shepperson) Weeks

William and Elizabeth (Hawk) Weeks married in Cornwall in 1784 and were blessed with three sons named John, William, and James Weeks.
Although we provide more insight into the families of John and James Weeks, we have yet to update our information on William Weeks.
In the earlier 1800, the opportunities for families to immigrate to British-ruled colonies became more attractive and popular, especially for the Weeks family from Cornwall, England.
John and James married their sweethearts in their hometown Cornwall, UK. John married Mary Parken in 1809, John brother James married Grace Ackerly in 1817.
Both John and James planned to immigrate to Canada between 1817 and 1823.
During 1818 – 1820 James and Grace changed their view and immigrated to South Africa with his best friend William Cock.
Sadly Grace passed away in early 1823 in Grahams town and James has re-married Mary Ann Shepperson in 1824

Lauchlan Clunas Fraser Weeks married Jannet Laura Holland

This was one of my favorite stories to read and I had the privilege to converse with Gregory and Catherine Weeks regarding their grandparents and their family tree.

Lauchlan Clunas Fraser and Jane Weeks published their autobiography and retired in Knysna South Africa.

This is a lovely story to read, and you go on a journey while reading the book with Jane’s attention to detail.

The book is a wealth of information and insight into living as a young person during early 1920.

The book share about Jane and Frasers’ life journey, how they met, their military deployment during separate missions around the world, and their life after marriage in Africa on a new venture to Rhodesia. The book takes you on an unforgettable journey with Jane traveling the world during her military career, Frasers’ military career, and their life in Africa and I couldn’t stop reading the book until the end.

The Storybook is worth sharing and available at a minimal cost to cover the publishing cost.

Gregory Weeks has done a DNA test and the info provided at the time couldn’t link him to his family with a direct line, just by DNA (or my view at the time), and I took the challenge and research his family descendants.

I have conversed with Linda McNeil that was a DNA match to Gregory and with her consent I was allowed to publish the information in FamilySearch.

Please take the time and acknowledge the valuable people with a passion to reconnect the Weeks families who have made the information available- Linda McNeil (Scotland) and the Africa Weeks Family researcher Douggie Weeks. Forward an email to my office to pass on the kudos.
